What is |=Dead End=| ?

Dead End is the writing space of an 18 year old who happens to be an introvert in real life. Therefore, Dead End is basically the outlet for my emotions and I love it for giving me a lot of great moments ever since it was born. In May 2008, the blog will complete two years. I’ve been lucky to get readers who read whatever I write and religiously post comments. A blog is nothing without it’s readers is my firm belief.

If you look at the way I write the name of the blog, you might be able to figure out that it’s a Dead End on a road. |==| signifies the road and ‘Dead End’ signifies what it is, a Dead End. There’s a long story about how the blog got this name. Basically it was my nickname when I used to chat on Yahoo! Messenger and it carried on to here. The content is very random and depends on my mood. It can be mature-ish at times but mostly it can be read by people of any age group. I try not to make it vulgar or rude but I can’t help it sometimes. After all, I’m supposed to express my emotions right?

I’ll tell you the one thing I’ve learned while blogging. Don’t ever lose your originality. Don’t make posts for others. You should have some kind of a special feel in your way of writing and I’m sure you’ll be successful. If you are actually interested in getting hits, you could make some attractive posts occasionally but don’t end up posting nude women and stuff. That will get you hits for sure but it won’t get you satisfaction. A blog with that kind of content never gets the respect a thinking person’s blog does. So if you haven’t started blogging yet, do it!

    Hey Anoop,

You can transfer from blogger to WordPress through WordPress’ internal mechanism. It’s easy. When you have made a blog, you will have a dashboard page. On that dashboard page, there will be a blue bar in the header in which there will be various links. One of them will be “Manage”. Once you click on that, there will be a link below it called “Import”.

When you click import, a number of options will be listed and the first one will be “Blogger”. Just click on that and follow the instructions and hopefully you’ll be done. I hope this helps. And keep visiting!

Ish, PLEASE put a search widget in your sidebar. It’s so difficult looking through your archives. Thanks!

@Ruhi: Done. I hadn’t put it there because it looks really ugly in the sidebar.

  12. Posted January 6, 2008 at 1:08 pm | Permalink

Oh I see! In that case, remove it! :| I don’t want you to start hating your sidebar.

You could move it to the bottom or somewhere you don’t see it.

Or hide it among the ’subscribe’ buttons!

I prefer having it on blogs, too.

I think it’s okay where it is right now, functionality is more important than looks sometimes you know.

  15. Posted January 6, 2008 at 4:18 pm | Permalink

I agree…some new users might try to dig through your archives, you know?

  16. Posted January 6, 2008 at 8:00 pm | Permalink

@Ruhi: Yeah, that’s why I put it back as soon as you suggested it.
