Preity Zinta and the Penguin

I’ve not been blogging very regularly. I’ve not even been commenting as enthusiastically as I used to. Blame it on a blown up LAN Card, a new USB LAN Card which doesn’t like me and my laziness. But things will change soon, hopefully. I always believe that everything will be fine in the end. A great example of this is my expectation that the electricity will be back soon enough when there’s a power cut. I have hope in the hopeless Punjab State Electricity Board. But then again, it’s not all their fault. We do consume shit loads of electricity during the summers in here. We had an 8 hour power cut today from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. But I still believe that one day, we’ll have 24-hour uninterrupted power supply. And if that doesn’t happen, then, picture abhi baaki hai mere dost. Trust me, I could give SRK a run for his money, if he has any left after the IPL disaster, that is.
IPL reminds me of Preity Zinta in her red team jersey and blue jeans looking all hot and stuff. Her 11 kings, led by our own ghode ke daant waala Kim Sharma ka ex-boyfriend and Deepika Padukone ka deewana – Yuvraj Singh lost to the super kings of Chennai led by our favorite hair gel ka advertiser who apparently also likes Deepika Padukone - Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Guess who came out winning? Our Toweliya Ranbir Kapoor obviously! But was bound to happen wasn’t it? The names of the teams say it all. It was obvious that the super kings would beat the kings. And when Preity’s 11 kings bumbled and tumbled to a 9 wicket defeat, she was sad. And this sadness was best caught by the Hindustan Times here -
I wonder how they managed to make her look so ugly. Maybe they went 60 years into the future and clicked that picture when Preity’s team lost to the Chennai Super Kings in the semi-finals of the Indian Pawar League for the 60th time.
Also since we’re talking about the Hindustan Times, I recently discovered from Xylene’s blog that the Hindustan Times had published one of Nita’s pictures which she had published on her blog without her permission and without any credit. I think that’s terrifically unfair. What do you think?
And now for the penguins. Nope, this isn’t about my two Happy left Feet. This is about a Flash based game that I discovered at Sulz’s blog some days back and I’ve got to say that it’s highly addictive. Me and Bharat had a competition on it and as of now, I have the record for the farthest the penguin went and he has the record for the least it went, not considering 0 that is. And I know nobody would believe me so I have a picture to prove it.
Alright then, now excuse this Ish cause he’s got to go and read the 33 unread posts lying in his feed reader. Bhow!

haha, is the penguin competition with bharat over? well, that teaches preity zinta’s team to never lose, otherwise uglei pics of her will come out. :P i think it makes her more human, though. (not that she’s any less to begin with.)

And 8 hours powercut!! Thats too much. Where do you live? Uh, if you don’t want to say it for privacy reasons its okay.
Also you haven’t been blogging. I thought you were busy studying for some entrance or other other. And really sad for Preety and Yuvi too. I like them both….but I like Dhoni too. Becomes difficult – whom to support I mean.

So finally commenting on the famous Ish’s blog….
I can understand powercuts….the situation is pretty bad in states like Punjab,MP,Maharshtra..but luckily I live in Chattisgarh ..the powerhub so no long powercuts.
Its just a bad moment for Preity ..atleast shehas makeup on.. else all the heroines will scare us if they are photographed without makeup.

@Sulz: Yeah, it is over. We got over the game eventually. But it was great. I think I should get back to playing it because I don’t have much to do except wait for the next 7 days for something nice to happen. ;)
And it’s not Preity’s fault that the team lost. But I’ve got to give it to her, she attended every single God damn match. And no, it doesn’t make her human. It makes her ghostly. :P She’s naturally pretty, I’ve observed.
Nita: I think what the Hindustan Times did was absolutely unfair. So I’ll do my best to make it reach as many people as I can. And get HT to officially apologize to you.
8 hours of power cut is something that I’ve seen a lot of times, it isn’t that uncommon back here. I live in Ludhiana, btw.
And as far as not blogging goes, it’s just lethargy. And my new USB based LAN card. I have to take out the internet cable every ten minutes and put it back again which gets really annoying. So I’ve kept away from the computer lately. I have given up on the entrances, I’m doing a BCA instead of a B.Tech. now.
I like Preity too. And I liked SRK, and I liked Gilchrist. It’s impossible to decide between the teams. I think the Royals are gonna win.
@Priya: Seriously, I bet the Indian photographers are taking cues from the Hollywood ones. After all, those people have loads of experience in making people like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears look like the ugliest women on the face of this earth.
We’ve had 8 hours of power cut earlier so we’re sort of used to it. But it does leave you with no source of entertainment. I read the newspaper and Stardust to pass my time yesterday. One day, India surely will get rid of this problem. The nuclear deal would’ve helped matters, I believe.

@Xylene: No, this is not a case of caught without make-up. Preity Zinta is actually pretty and even if she isn’t, she was looking good in the match during which this picture was taken. They showed her on the screen at least 10 times and she was looking cute. But in this picture, well, nevermind.
8 hours of power cut yes. Maybe if I go to some bigger city later in life, maybe those cuts would remind me of home too.

Yes, the power situation in Punjab is pretty bed, and it’s only gonna get worse with the coal reserves decreasing. The electricity board has taken to burning oil to generate electricity. That for you, is desperation.
It’s more than a bad moment. I don’t think not having make up on could make her look that bad. They’ve somehow managed to make her look Amitabh Bachchan’s age, who well, doesn’t look and act his age anyway.

@Balu: Seriously lol. Actually I had visited their website after I read Nita’s post. One picture just leads to another.
@Shaivi: Exactly! First I thought that the HT people had done a spoof and made her look ugly by editing. But later I read the caption and realized that it was a genuine picture. They manage to make Preity not look Pretty. :P
Lol, UP and Punjab are similarly pitted. After all, both are farming states and have a huge population. In trying to provide the farmers with 24 hour electricity and water, the normal junta is bound to suffer. The Punjab Board is actually going in quite a loss and I read that they may have to give it to the private sector soon.
It’s weird, I checked the DU website again and couldn’t find such a course. I couldn’t even find a diploma course like that which is weird.
DU is I guess the country’s number 1 uni toh percentage waala panga is justified also. Even Indraprastha does have a 30% weightage for the board exams ke marks. The Punjab University is reasonably okay too so it should be fine.

Punjab got kicked out by Chennai. I thought they were gonna win actually but that wasn’t meant to happen. And now Rajasthan has beaten Chennai and won the DLF Indian Pawar League. And Amit has won the PFHOI Contest.

yes, it would have taken genius to put such an ugly picture of Priety Zinta. And Toweliya Kapoor is really lucky guy to be egaged to hottest girl in the country.
I am not surprised to know about the power cuts. THankfully, we see less cuts in Delhi, specifically this year. Yet I was watching this movie Prestige on HBO, after an hour power cut happened and power returned when movie credits were being rolled up. I hate it. :( It was my Friday night movie treat time.
I played the game a little but ensured that I don’t get addicted. THanks for the warning though. :)

We used to have a lot of cuts earlier but things had considerably improved over the last couple of years. And yesterday’s cut was also a planned thing, they were increasing the power capacity. The electricity didn’t go even for a minute today, inshallah. And I know how it feels when the electricity goes when you’re watching something. I remember that it always used to go when Shaktimaan would come in DD Metro on Sundays.

And yes, that game is rather violent. I’m sure the PETA’s gonna kick my ass soon.

You’re right about the board exams waala funda. But if they don’t give it any weightage at all, nobody would take the board exams seriously. Non-medical people already don’t give much of a shit about it. So that would defeat the entire purpose of having the board exams, you know.

@Arvind: I know, the big cities don’t have much power cuts. Actually we don’t have many of them either. That 8 hour one happens once in every blue moon. People do use a lot of air-conditioners here so it’s bound to happen.
Seriously, they killed Preity’s preitiness in that picture. But otherwise she’s really cute.

I’ve come to online just to make a comment on your post. You guys are shocked hearing about 8 hours power cut. I would like to ask Ishmeet, is this regular in your area? I mean, do you have to suffer 8 hour power cut everyday? I guess, no.
But here, in bangladesh, we have to suffer from 6 to 8 hour power cut every single day. You guys are living much much better comfortable than all of us, here in Bangladesh. You may don’t know that, there was four hours power cut just while IPL final was showing on Set Max. A huge amount of people couldn’t watch IPL final just because load-shedding.
If you come here to live at least a month, then you will discover how comfortable you life in India is.

@Aminul: I was comparing the power situation in my city to the rest of the major cities in India. If I talk about the over-all situation, most parts of Africa don’t have any electricity. Hell most parts of India also live without electricity. We used to have 5 hour cuts till around 4 years back. It doesn’t happen now. I know we’re living a more comfortable life than you are but it’s human tendency to always want more. You can never ever be satisfied. The extent of satisfaction depends on your current situation. I have broadband while a lot of people have dial up but I’m still not satisfied. I want even more speed. You know what I mean?

Nope, in this game, the penguin jumps from the hill and a snowman with a baseball slugger stands below. When the penguin reaches close, he hits it with the slugger and it goes flying. So you’ve got to try and make it go as far as possible.

@Riddhima Ish has posted his score as 320.9 but dont be intimidated ..I scored 321 and he said “he will so beat me at this game” but hasnt yet :D

Most of times during all IPL era.. I used to see Preity hugging Yuvi.. I think Preity had a rule of a free hug for every win :-)
BTW, i started playing that penguin game.. it’s too addictive.. I will try to beat you and post of my score on my blog

Hey I got 320.9 within first 20-25 tries.. wait I have not yet given up.. will try to beat.. atleast there is a tie if i can’t beat.. I have taken snap too.. :-)
