If you’re not a first time visitor, you’ll notice that a lot of things in here have changed. I had been using the same old Simpla theme (which I dearly loved, I must add), for almost a year now. And a couple of days back, everything changed.
A couple of days back, The Ruhi gifted me 15 WordPress credits so that I could buy the custom CSS upgrade. If you’ve never used WordPress.com and are wondering what I’m going on about, don’t worry, I’ll explain. WordPress.com doesn’t allow it’s users to edit the look and style of their themes unless you buy the CSS upgrade which costs $15 per year. So I didn’t have that and The Ruhi decided to gift it to me. And I don’t have any words to thank her. The Ruhi, you know you’re teh shit right? You really are! 
So guys and girls, go and pay The Ruhi a visit. And read her posts. And leave comments. Who knows she might start liking you and gift you a custom CSS upgrade too right? And even if you don’t need a custom CSS upgrade, you can buy many other things with $15. Just think! It’s all worth it, I tell ya. I’m pretty sure you’re gonna be flooded with comments and lurve now, The Ruhi. 
A little about this current theme now. It is called SandPress and is the winner of the Sandbox Designs Competition. It has been designed by Arpit Jacobs. The theme was basically written for WordPress.org but I managed to make it work with WordPress.com with some six hours of rigorous CSS-editing. If you’re not getting what I mean, ignore it. It’s just my technical bullshit that I like to do once in a while. So then, do you like the new look? Have any suggestions? They’re most welcome. If you want to use this theme with WordPress.com or Blogger, leave me a comment. I’ll try to help you do it.

But the newness doesn’t end here. If you look at the sidebar, you’ll notice that I’m supporting the Kolkata Knight Riders. Now, in this post, I had said that I was gonna support the Kings XI Punjab. But the way they lost to Chennai and the way the Knight Riders annihilated the Bangalore Royal Challengers, I had to change my mind. So I’m back to being the loyal SRK fan and am gonna support his team. They have the best looking dress ever btw. And I seriously hope they win their match against the Deccan Chargers today. Because if they don’t, there’s a high chance that I might shift teams..again. After all, the Kings XI Punjab put up a decent performance too. It’s only that the Chennai guys were too good.
Anyway, since it’s the IPL season, and since almost everybody is really out of inspiration and content, I bring to you ‘The Predict For the Heck Of It Contest‘. It’s basically a game wherein you have to predict the winner of a particular day’s match. If people participate, it might turn out to be fun. And what does it require..like 30 seconds? I’m sure you can do that.
And with this, we come to the end of this post. And I need to go and read other peoples’ blogs and leave comments because I haven’t done anything except ‘working on this theme’ and ‘thinking up a superb dare which never happened’ since yesterday. You’re really lucky, Nik and Bharat.

@Cat: Yep, I like that too. Initially when I tried using this theme, it was completely broken. Then I asked you about Diurnal and you told me to visit Wank’s site. So I visited it and realized what mistake I was making. I was pasting this CSS into the existing Sandbox CSS instead of pasting it from scratch. That was why it wasn’t working. So I’ve got to thank you for the help as well.

Smileys are annoying little creatures yep. I like the way Gtalk does smileys..you know the entire straightening up the signs and all. But Yahoo has some nice little smileys, especially the pukey one. That’s green and very natural. =P I guess we should tell some designer to create specific Indian smiley packs some day. And then we can use that and be all happy happy.
The Mohali deal was sad. They lost even though they didn’t play too badly. The Chennai guys were just way too good and Murlidaran just stole everything we had. Funny that the big names have all disappointed, Yuvi did too yesterday. Support the Kolkata Knight Riders too for their awesome dresses if nothing else. Today’s match was a disaster btw. How can there be an effin’ power failure during the match when they spend this kind of money in organizing the tournament?! This is the entire reason why India is not ready to host an international tournament. The state of affairs is sad. And that happened in Eden Gardens, which is one of the best grounds. I wouldn’t even wanna think what would happen at Mohali. And I thought the crowd was gonna bury the team including Preity Zinta in the stadium. We know only too well how the Punjabi’s are. But I guess they just decided to wait for a couple of more matches.
And congratulations, your first prediction went wrong. Bangalore won. =P Good luck for tomorrow. And put your predictions on the page I’ve made for the contest from next time okay? Will be easier maintaining things in there.

I liked the old theme better. It was simpler and faster. This seems cluttered to me. But that’s just me and my minimalist fancies. Don’t be bothered by it.
Eternal Crap of the Aimless MInd is clever but too self-deprecating. The whole crap-aimless-deranged mind thingo has been done to death in blogging. You Need Not Go Any Further has got style. Stick to it.

Bharat: This theme is pretty minimalistic too. But yea, as compared to Simpla, it is cluttered. I still love Simpla but the thing is that I’ve been using it for more than a year now and it starts to get boring after one point of time. And since Ruhi did gift me the credits, I had to exploit them. And it’s only for one year, after that I’ve got to get back to the usual themes if I don’t pay the $15 again.
So you like You need not go any further too? That makes it two people against one so I’ll keep it. No issues but I was liking the Eternal Crap of the Aimless Mind too despite it being self deprecating.
It was not about royalties. When you made us the decider’s of the dare, it was obvious that we had to come up with something smartass. Otherwise it’d have been lame. And what’s the end result? Now you know that we shouldn’t be trusted?

I’m glad you liked the theme. And I’m happy you told me that thing about Fileden. I think I should just upload all the related images to WordPress.com and then link them through. That should also make things a little faster. The only thing is that there are too many images so it might get a little complicated. But that’s fine, I think I can manage with that.
I’m nothing great at CSS or Web Designing. I haven’t had any official training and I haven’t designed this theme myself. I merely edited some parts of it. I can’t create themes and stylesheets from scratch. I can only edit them to suit me.

I am Wp.com, without CSS and Domain Mapping. Theme I am using is Shocking Blue Green by Chris M and I have just forwarded and masked the domain name via godaddy.

Anshul, you might not want to do domain masking and forwarding using GoDaddy because it solve no purpose. It will reduce the ranking of your blog on Google Search. Plus, the link of your posts are till brainstuck.wordpress.com. They are not brainstuck.com. This is kind of a clash and won’t do your blog any good.

Redirected domains aren’t rated good by search engines. I have just done masking coz. If I dont, the wp stats don’t show me how many people have actually visited the blog by typing “brainstuck.com”,a parameter that helps me find out that how many people actually know about the blog, thats the main reason for masking and thats why domain name stays there even after clicking on other links or even external links. It also makes difficult for people to digg etc. since the browser doesn’t show any unique link. Also, as you said, brainstuck dot wordpress dot com is what is indexed everywhere…so the move to .org means I indexing will start from scratch.
I think, its time to make a move or atleast buy domain mapping from wp.com.

Yes, in that case, I would strongly advice you to buy domain mapping or go self-hosted or go to Blogger. 
You can buy domain mapping here and stay put for sometime and then later shift to .org. that will help you with the ranking and stuff…the move out will be gradual then.

Ish is right. You should take a look at Tumblr. It solves your purpose anyway. It’s much suited for your cartoons actually because that website supports artists and tehre is a separate page for artists. You can submit your blog to the Editors and if they like it, then they will put it up on the front page. You can use your own domain for free. Customize everything for free and it takes only a minute to post anything. You can even post to it using your Mac desktop.
As a first-time visitor , I really don’t know how your earlier page looked like. But I can understand the reason for your enthusiasm.
I had to give up wordpress cuz I could not play with the template. Enjoy your new look

The new theme’s much better. And works smoothly even in Opera Kestrel.
Kolkata Knight Riders rule the game. First, their uniforms are the sleekest. Then, they have the players. Seeing Brendon McCullum hit the shit out of Bangalore was so much fun. And then, there’s SRK. So there’s no comparison at all, really. Though I also support the Delhi Daredevils. And both my teams are right on top of the League Table, so no worries
