..how to hold a pen.
Whenever anybody sees me writing, they tell me that my style of holding the pen and writing is really weird. My standard reply is “huh?”. So I took a photo of me writing the other day and since I don’t have anything to write about right now, I thought I’d just put that picture up and ask you if my style of holding the pen is really that weird.

And here’s the result of holding the pen in that style.

Okay, I have to admit that the first time I saw it, I did feel it was a bit weird. But still not “that weird”. And no, I’m not advertising Fevi Stick. It just happened to be there. I also thought I should put in a word for those pre-board exams that have been haunting 10thees and 12thees these days. Yep, I’m having them too from the 15th. It’s not very exciting I tell you.

i tried to hold it the way you do, but i don’t know how you bend your finger like that. i had known a friend who holds the pencil in a really weird way too. is your handwriting nice?
i think handwriting is such a personal thing. i like my handwriting. :) (i don’t know why i’m talking so randomly.)
January 10, 2008 at 4:30 pm
@Sulz: Haha, that’s what most people say. They ask me why that finger doesn’t break when I bend it like that. I don’t know why I started holding it like that. My handwriting is not good, or so I think. But I’ve seen worse handwritings so I think it’s average. Handwriting is personal I agree but it’s a real pain in the backside when you’re a person who copies things on the very day before the submission and all your friends happen to have terrible hand writings.
January 10, 2008 at 4:33 pm
is your handwriting big and round by any chance?
January 10, 2008 at 4:35 pm
Nah, it’s pretty much normal. I guess I should just put a screenshot of the result of that handwriting style as well.
January 10, 2008 at 4:42 pm
@wanderlust: There you go. Now tell me..is that big and round?
January 10, 2008 at 4:59 pm
nope…. just asked coz a friend of mine used to hold her pen like that, and her handwriting used to come out big and round.
January 10, 2008 at 5:15 pm
I hold mine differently to yours and people say mine’s weird. Don’t worry about it!
January 10, 2008 at 5:36 pm
your handwriting’s much nicer than i expected! suddenly i want to post a picture of my handwriting too. i must go bother my friend to lend me his camera again.
January 10, 2008 at 5:37 pm
@wanderlust: I figured. I believe mine is rather skinny. The major problem with my handwriting is that it’s difficult to distinguish between the e’s and the i’s.
@Cat: Yea, guess that’s the way it is. But nobody else gets that line from the teachers.
January 10, 2008 at 5:38 pm
@Sulz: Wow that’s cool. I’ve been told my handwriting sucks so this is a welcome change. Did you notice though that your post is featured in the “Post of the Day” column right at the top of the sidebar? And I hope you get a picture of your handwriting up soon, me wanna see!
January 10, 2008 at 5:51 pm
oh my gosh, i didn’t! haha, thank you, what a lovely thing for you to do. *hugs*
you know what? you’ve just given me a great idea for my next blogging project. you’re my muse, teh shit man!
January 10, 2008 at 5:54 pm
@Sulz: LOL, I thought you hadn’t seen it. It’s just for teh *hugs* that I live you know!
Okay, I’ve given you a great idea? That’s neat. I always knew I was teh shit!
January 10, 2008 at 6:42 pm
yup its kinda weird..lol
shit..that physics is freaking me out!!
January 10, 2008 at 8:03 pm
he he… i too hold my pen somethinbg like that ..people tell me that i have a very bad writing ,which is true, due to the way i hold the pen..but your hand writng is quite good if compared to mine..
Anyway why should we follow the normal way ,,we should be different in every aspect .holding pen is a part of it.. so enjoy the uniqueness . :d
by the way…
gud luck for ur exams
January 10, 2008 at 9:04 pm
@Lemonade: Huh? Remember that’s my standard reply? If you don’t, better go up and read again. :P That Physics shit freaks me out too but it’s fine because I was mindlessly copying all that shit from somebody’s copy. I didn’t even bother correct his spelling mistakes lol.
@Arvind: Neat point there. My style of holding the pen is unique, so why are you jealous about it? Go to hell! I’m totally gonna use this line the next time somebody comments about it. Thanks btw!
January 10, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Well, the way you hold your pen looks a tad … well, different to what I’ve seen most other people holding it as. Then again, me being left-handed, I find most other people’s way of holding a pen weird in the first place, while they find my way of holding it freaky …
Heck, it doesn’t really matter. Your handwriting’s pretty decent – it’s neat and legible at any rate.
January 10, 2008 at 9:57 pm
thats the spirit.. :P
January 10, 2008 at 9:59 pm
@Sahil: I’m still in a dilemma whether to be left handed or right handed. I eat with my left hand, write with the right one. But there’s a part of me that’s inclined to the left because I’d so prefer if the guitar was the other way around. I don’t know the language for it but I believe it’d be easier to play if it were left handed. Good to know you think my handwriting is decent. Actually it’s the good one you’re seeing here. You need to see my fast handwriting. That’s totally incomprehensible. Thanks for dropping by, hope you’ll keep doing that!
January 10, 2008 at 10:32 pm
Ooh, p-n junction diode! That was pretty much the only experiment I could do. Ah, the good ol’ days…
Omg, did I actually say GOOD???? I didn’t mean it o’ course.
Oh, I know what you mean about holding the pen in a weird manner (yea, it is weird :P). Being a lefty, I’ve had LOADS of people gawking and gaping at the way I write. Hmph.
And pre-boards..hehe. You’ll get over it. They nearly killed me, but I managed to convince my parents to let me bunk chemistry. :) Sssshhhh.
January 10, 2008 at 11:06 pm
@Kriti: Yea right, thanks for telling me it’s weird. Guess I really should have listened to people. But I hardly care anyway. And yeah, this experiment is super easy. I don’t think lefties write in a weird way. I know so many people who are lefties, and they tend to have good handwritings I’ve noticed. I’m sure I’ll get over the pre-boards yea, did that in 10th also so yeah I will. But I wish I could miss chemistry somehow, that’s the first exam and I’m totally gonna flunk. :P
January 11, 2008 at 12:03 am
hey that looks like how krits holds her pen…or was it ankeeta or rashie…well, one of my friends at any rate…
so its not weird…
January 11, 2008 at 12:04 am
That is how I hold my pen too and everyone tells me thats weird :)
The resulting handwritings just fine. I get it from my dad :)
January 11, 2008 at 12:11 am
@Nidhi: LOL, just cause one of your friends holds the pen in the same way, it’s not weird. What if it was only me? :P
@Sporadic: Wow, finally one person who holds the pen like me and gets told that it’s weird. I believe my handwriting is fine too. Frankly I don’t care even if it isn’t. Till the time I can understand, I’m happy.
January 11, 2008 at 12:51 am
dude..the style looks weird just coz it’s uncommon and we hardly find such style around but I have seen people who have styles outta this world. Imagine the pen between the Index and the Middle finger…Now that’s what we call as really weird man !!
btw, more than ur handwriting I focused on the physics experiment which is the THE last thing I’ll look for… :-)
January 11, 2008 at 1:10 am
I wonder how you hold a table tennis racket .. bcoz when you learn they ask you hold it as you hold a pen ..
Anyways you got really cool hand writing..
And yeah Good Luck for your Exams
January 11, 2008 at 2:47 am
Before I even got a chance to comment, you’ve already run up so many of them! I was away for just 12 hours or something. :P
I’ve seen some of my other friends holding pens like that too…but seriously, doesn’t your speed get reduced? That is a very awkward position. But after you’ve developed the habit, it’s hard to change it, innit? :)
January 11, 2008 at 2:54 am
@Anoop: Man, holding the pen between the index and the middle finger? I so totally wanna see that. I have a friend who can write with the pen between the middle finger and the finger next to it. But he does that only to prove he can. I like physics experiments. p-n junction diodes are so cool when you get to do experiments on them. When you have to learn things related to them, then they’re lame.
@Nishu: I wouldn’t know because I’ve never held a table tennis racket in my life. No wait I have once or twice and always lost. But I don’t understand how one can hold it like a pen. We just hold it like a racket don’t we? Thanks for the handwriting appreciation and for the luck, I totally need that.
@Ruhi: t3h chicks lurve me lol! You need to be faster if you wanna be on top (okay, really cheap but funny. :P)
Yeah, that’s one problem I can’t deny. My speed gets reduced when I write and my hands start hurting pretty fast too. That’s why I’m not a big fan of writing things down. I’ve tried to change it many times but I think it’s impossible now. You just can’t change some habits. This is one of them. Did you notice I turned the comment smileys off btw? They used to mess up the text formatting otherwise because this particular theme has a weird way with images. It raises them half way above the text which makes a big gap between two lines. I know this isn’t making any sense to you so you can just do a “ya ya I noticed blah blah”. :P
January 11, 2008 at 3:39 am
Hey I like your handwriting :) But it’s not worth it if you’re too slow (like your typing speed ;)
Just noticed that you turned off the comments smiley. They were working when I commented. and I know what you mean when you talk about the space betn. the lines in the post, because I use this theme in my other blog ;) So yes, your blabbering does make sense. LOL. Shouldn’t you be sleeping? It’s too late for you.
January 11, 2008 at 11:28 am
YOU have a clean handwriting, but yes, that clearly is a very hatke and unique way to hold a pen. :)
January 11, 2008 at 1:20 pm
THEN it would ahve been weird….lol..just kidding…its just that I’m so used to seeing someone work like this, i don’t find it weird anymore…see?
January 11, 2008 at 1:29 pm
@Ruhi: My typing speed isn’t slow, come on. It’s faster than most people around. Obviously there are exceptions like you around. Can’t do much about my holding the pen in that style either. I’m stuck with it for the rest of my life but I hope it wouldn’t be much of a bother later because I’ll be looking for a job which requires typing and not writing. Ah, I totally forgot you used this theme too. Then it was obvious you’d understand. It’s really annoying though isn’t it? :(
@Poonam: Hatke. I like that. :D
@Nidhi: Yep, I see. Maybe I should just look for more people who hold a pen in a weird way and then I’ll feel fine?
January 11, 2008 at 2:11 pm
the other day someone commentented on the way i hold my pen…… i was suprised coz i didnt know it was ‘wrong’…. but my funda is, if u can write wt, and if another can read wt ur writing…. then y worry?
see ya:)
January 11, 2008 at 2:23 pm
I cant seem to see the pic somehow…
January 11, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Wow, I can’t imagine writing like that. lol. But I do press a lot while writing so highlights appear on the next few pages. :D
January 11, 2008 at 2:37 pm
@Shuz: I don’t think there can be anything wrong in the way one holds a pen. It can merely be different. At least that’s my belief and it seems to work. It’s pretty much the same as your funda.
@Nova: That’s weird, I can see them. I just hope the Imageshack bandwidth wasn’t exceeded.
@Ash: LOL, same here dude. I manage to leave highlights on the front cover’s of registers whenever I’m keeping a paper on them. That’s another reason my fingers hurt and my hands get messy while writing. And because of that I don’t really enjoy fountain pens, I simply break their nibs while trying to write.
January 11, 2008 at 3:12 pm
I love fountain pens actually. Best for writing. In fact I used them to write when they allowed us to write with pens so now my hand is only used to writing with heavy and fat pens. lol.
January 11, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Hell, I can’t even bend my index finger like that! :s
Weird. =P
January 11, 2008 at 3:32 pm
@Ash: I love fountain pens too. But I can’t use many of them, especially the super thick Parker ones. Their brand of ink called Quink is shit btw.
@Vasudha: Haha, you’re making bending the index finger sound like an achievement. Not that I have any problems with that. :P
January 11, 2008 at 3:51 pm
@Ruhi: Dunno how I forgot to reply to your “Shouldn’t you be sleeping? It’s too late for you.” comment. I was studying for my computer practical exam. I got teh full in the viva! :D
January 11, 2008 at 8:23 pm
dude…i am no expert…and people say me,i must also change the way i hold the pen…what they say is,ur index finger should be as straight as possible…if the way we keep our index finger on the pen is not straight then we may tire our hand fast…whatever i dont know…if u like to try then go ahead…but i have found that its not easy to keep the index finger straight..
if we put the power through our index finger,it will start paining faster…so people say keep that finger as straight as possible…
January 11, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Tumne ek apne haah ka pic post kiya to 41 comments, kuch movies ka naam upload kiya to 57 comments…kya baat hai shishya ji jahan haath lagate ho sona ho jaata hai…tum to apne guru se blogging ke har lihaj mein 4 kadam aage ho!
And why didn’t you start this Post of the day pehle, then my new consumer rights interview would have been there and got some worthy readers. :)
January 11, 2008 at 11:11 pm
@Rohan: All things that you’ve said are true. My hands to start hurting whenever I write more than 2 something pages. But I don’t think I’ll be able to change my writing style now. It’s too late and will be too time consuming.
@Poonam: Nah, main 4 kadam aage nahi guruji. Zara apne aur mere posts ki quality compare karo. My content stands nowhere as compared to yours. You’re more than 4 kadam aage in that. And moreover, you read so much more stuff than I do. Your reader has 4 times as many items as mine does. I get the comments merely because I post a lot of them myself on other blogs. It’s not because my posts are really thought provoking.
And my Post of the Day column doesn’t help much. Kal poora din mein Sulz got just 1 visitor thanks to that column. I don’t think Ash or Cat got any today at all. But don’t worry, tomorrow will feature your consumer rights interview in that column. It deserves to see the light of day more than anything else does.
January 11, 2008 at 11:24 pm
yep…..its time consuming..but i guess u will have some vacation after ur board exams…that time just give it a try..
January 11, 2008 at 11:34 pm
I didn’t even notice you have that! Cheers.
Not looked at my stats yet though. :)
January 12, 2008 at 11:27 am
@Rohan: Vacations? You’ve got to me kidding me lol. I’ll have those engineering entrance exams the very next month after the boards. And then college.
@Cat: I know, nobody’s been noticing it at all. Maybe I need to make it a little more flashy. And my telling you was based on my “top clicks” data. Nobody clicked on neither yours nor Ash’s link. I guess I should just drop this.
January 12, 2008 at 11:56 am
oh boy..i remember my engineering entrance coaching-nightmare-days..
January 12, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Don’t think you should drop it. Saw both the links yesterday, and loved ‘em both =) Its a swell idea! :D
January 12, 2008 at 9:14 pm
well, u hold the pen in a way different to most ppl, though that doesnt make it weird. but either way, ur penmanship beats the living hell out of mine (and i hold the pen in a way most consider “ordinary”)
January 13, 2008 at 12:29 am
yeah the way you hold your pen is pretty different but who cares….atleast your handwriting is pretty legible….and yeah entrance exams are crazy(and very scary)…… :p
January 13, 2008 at 1:22 am
Dude, I was gonna post this! Seriously! People keep on callin my stye weird as well for no apparent reason (Although yours IS WEIRD :P)
January 13, 2008 at 1:23 am
glad my prebs are halfway done.
January 13, 2008 at 3:57 am
@Vasudha: Aiight, I’ll not drop the idea then. I did see your comment at Ash’s blog, didn’t know you had reached there from here.
@Nikita: I refuse to believe that my handwriting can be better than a girls’. Till date, all girl copies I have seen are way way neater than mine. Where the girl handwriting ends, the boy handwriting starts. :P
@Jallu: Dude! Where the fu*k have you been?!
@Sneezy: LOL, maybe I can read your mind then. But you can still make a post, who cares? And man, the prebs are totally killing me now. Chemistry = shit. Utter nonsensical shit.
January 13, 2008 at 4:56 am
Just saw your Post of the Day thingie. :D Damn cool man! Very nice way of sending traffic to your friends’ blogs.
January 13, 2008 at 5:02 am
@Ruhi: Thanks! I’m glad you like it. It’s an extension to your “One Crouton a Day” thingie. I would have said you’re teh shit again but I’m sure you know that very well by now. :D
January 13, 2008 at 8:12 am
LOL! Thanks for that link to my blog. You know, I didn’t say that it’s a good idea just to get a link back to my blog. :P But since you’ve provided it, then I don’t mind. ;)
Looks at the number of comments for this post! 55 including mine…and that too, just to discuss your hand writing. I don’t know what your fans will do if you put up your picture. :D
January 13, 2008 at 1:34 pm
@ish: watch your language kiddo [:p] …… I’ve not had d net for round a month……..lets say my mom lost it when she saw the electricity bill…….and on top of dat i’m coming home only to sleep nowadays……
January 13, 2008 at 2:16 pm
if u dont believe me, ask vasudha… my handwriting is legible only to me. i reckon i lost at least a total of 20 marks in my boards thanks to my godforsaken handwriting.
January 13, 2008 at 2:23 pm
@nikita: ur handwriting cant be worse than mine…..
January 13, 2008 at 2:35 pm
Ish: Someone has been searching for Deepxxx. Two people landed on my blog after searching for “deepxxx”. :|
January 13, 2008 at 4:17 pm
@Ruhi: That link back wasn’t because you had appreciated that column. I was going to put it in there in the first place and forgot. Your comment reminded me and hence it landed up there. You know you’re too good a friend for me to have to link back in order to thank you, right?
The day I put up my picture, all these people will run away and there’ll be no comments what so ever for the posts after that. And I’m not gonna let them happen. I’ll put up some unknown dude and say it’s me. :P
Lol, deepxxx searches are natural. After all, they’re searching for it in the sex context and not in the context we used it lol so it’s fine. :P
@Jallu: Dude, my computer remains on 24/7 and my parents don’t have a heart attack when they see the electricity bill. Computers don’t take up that much energy do they?
@Nikita: Okay, I believe you then. I’ve lost marks in Boards because of the bad handwriting too. I’m sure they couldn’t read my english paper at all otherwise there’s no way I could have ended up with 89 marks.
January 13, 2008 at 5:34 pm
i wouldn’t run away if you put up your picture. i’ve already seen it and i didn’t run away did i? ;) now if i saw you on the street, i think i’d definitely run away then! hahaha… only because i’m too shy to say hi, honestly!
January 13, 2008 at 7:41 pm
Um,isn’t 89 is very good? :S And yes, Nik’s handwriting teh crap! [that's right, innit?] :P
January 13, 2008 at 7:42 pm
*isn’t 89 very good
*handwriting is
0_0 Typos, grr.
January 13, 2008 at 8:06 pm
@Sulz: I get the picture lol, I totally get it. :P
@Vasudha: Nope, 89 is not at all good considering people who don’t know English got 90+.
January 13, 2008 at 11:06 pm
@Ish: try telling my mom that…….
January 14, 2008 at 4:32 am
@Ish
“You know you’re too good a friend for me to have to link back in order to thank you, right?”
Booohooohooooboohoo :(
“The day I put up my picture, all these people will run away and there’ll be no comments what so ever for the posts after that. ”
You do know that you’re being very silly here, right? Why will anyone run away? Don’t lower yourself like this, pal. :)
“After all, they’re searching for it in the sex context and not in the context we used it lol so it’s fine. :P”
Thank God! I got scared…I don’t run searches for porn stuff, so I don’t know what you guys search for. :P
January 14, 2008 at 1:57 pm
Will comment when I get home. I can’t see the photos on the network I’m using.
January 14, 2008 at 7:15 pm
No. You’re not weird. I’m a weirdo for I don’t stick with one grip. :P
January 14, 2008 at 7:16 pm
PS: Btw neat handwriting.
January 14, 2008 at 7:28 pm
there, i have support of vasudha (whose handwriting makes one think that she descends form the heavens for the soul purpose of making every “normal” god fearing idiot feel even worse about him/herself)
glad u agree… :-D
January 14, 2008 at 8:41 pm
@Jallu: I doubt I should do that lol, I’m bad when it comes to moms.
@Ruhi: Hey what’s the Boohoo etc for? Khushi ke aansoo or something else eh? They better be khushi ke. :P
Yeah, I know I’m being silly there. And don’t worry, My ego is already at something like minus infinity, there’s not many things that can lower me after that. :D
Yea, I can understand what they meant when they were searching for DeepXXX, don’t worry, it’s totally porn related and I’m not getting any further about that in here. :P
@Sha: Wow, why did I think I have a terrible handwriting? Everybody says it’s fine. Now that’s weird. Thanks btw. :P
@Nikita: Yea? Vasudha has very good handwriting? You see, when you’re a guy, every [almost] every girls handwriting makes you feel worse about yourself. But then again, when you’re a guy, you don’t feel such things.
January 14, 2008 at 11:35 pm
arre nahin dont say your content is not good. I have some real good content in your blog. Aise hi thodi na kuch popular hota hai. :)
January 15, 2008 at 12:10 am
@ish : arent we all bad when it comes to moms…..
January 15, 2008 at 5:10 am
@Ish
Khushi ke aasoon baba :P And what about doing a post educating us about the search engine terms like “Deepxxx”? ;)
January 15, 2008 at 2:18 pm
@Poonam: Yea, I had some good content in the olden days. For the last couple of months or so, there hasn’t been anything substantial.
@Jallu: Not all I believe, I’ve seen some who are good with their mums.
@Ruhi: Khushi ke aasoon, good! :D And lol, I’m not doing a post about search engine terms like that. That’ll either get me a mature rating or in worst case scenario might even get me banned for over vulgarity and stuff like that. :P
January 15, 2008 at 3:06 pm
She exaggerates. :D
And hey, 89 is so NOT bad! English is one of the more strictly checked papers, and the highest at my school was just a 93. As for the morons who got 90+ by fluke, don’t worry, they must’ve stuck 1000 rupee notes at the end of the answer booklet. :P Fear not, you’ll prolly get a 95+ this time :)
January 15, 2008 at 5:37 pm
@Vasudha: I’m not even competing with Delhi’s English, I know mine is not even close to that lol. Man, I was thinking about sticking a Rs. 50 note with my Chemistry pre board exam answer sheet today. It was ridiculously tough.
And I know you have a good handwriting, I just remembered seeing it on top of your Business Studies book that didn’t get wet or something in one of the posts. Hawk Eyes I’ve got. :D
January 15, 2008 at 9:13 pm
50 bucks won’t get you anywhere. That’s only two and a half Chicken McGrills :P
Hawk eyes and some memory!
Though that was East of Eden, not Business Studies. My BSt book is, in fact, blank. I should open it soon. :D
January 16, 2008 at 10:58 am
@Vasudha: It’s not Delhi and it’s not the Boards. So I believe Rs. 50 can get me passing marks at least. But yeah, my teacher eats too much to be satisfied by two and a half Chicken McGrills. He’ll need at least one full KFC ka Chicken Bucket and that’ll be something like Rs. 250. Marks ke liye itna paisa kaun waste karta hai. :P
Ah yes, some memory too. If only it would work during the exams. The same happens with my math book lol. I believe I’ll be able to sell mine at the same price as a new book if they don’t change the syllabus. It’s even binded in 3 parts to make it convenient. :P
January 16, 2008 at 1:51 pm
I have not seen 79 comments in any of my post! Just posted a pic of your hand…Ye Haat mujhe dede thakur! :P
January 16, 2008 at 9:01 pm
betelal practicals likh rahe ho….
who says your handwriting is weird…its cool..aisa hi kahte hai na angrezi me…coool !!!
ha yaar par tum ek photu lagaya aur itte comments …poonam ji itta sensible posts likhti hai..maine pada hai… poonam ji jal rahi hai lagta…
ye haath unko de hi do..boards ke baad…
January 16, 2008 at 9:09 pm
@Poonam: LOL, haath le lo thakur, par us se koi fayda nahi hoga. Mera dimaag bhi nikaalna padega! :D
@Anurag: Sir, you are killing me with your praises. Udhar Ruhi ke blog pe bhi you said that. I don’t know how to thank you. Pata nahi yaar itne comments kaise ho gaye, matlab waise hi conversations ho rahi hain. Otherwise maine bhi kabhi 20-30 se zyada comments nahi dekhe apni posts pe.
And I agree Poonam ji ka content is much better, and yeh haath bhi wohi deserve karti hain. Poonam ji, yeh haath aapki gurudakshina hai, kabool kijiye. :P
January 16, 2008 at 10:28 pm
@anurag: Kya karun yeh hai hi jaalim duniya…I write a stupid post about my personal resolutions, I get about 40 comments. But I write about consumer rights..mushkil se 10-12 people will comment! :(
@ish: Such mein tum board tak haat sambhal kar rakho….:)
Aur yeh to hai, these comments are more of conversations. After all that is what blogs are for: expression and communication. :)
January 16, 2008 at 10:40 pm
Poonam ji aapne gaur kiya is ladke ke blog par ladkiya meharbaan hai…
niche writer hai banda…aapke blog par comment karne ka socha…but just adding 2 cents which are of no use..kuchh thik nahi laga…
specially aapke financial planning wale resolution par…dhyan do us par..aaap…
January 16, 2008 at 10:53 pm
@Poonam: You know, I just understood the deal! Most of us people are random commentators but your posts are really serious and one has to think before posting a comment otherwise it would look silly, that’s why the resolution waala post got more comments. Ah, finally I figured the deal out! I should get a chocolate for this :P
@Anurag: Sir aap pehle ye bhi to dekho ye ladka kitni ladkiyon ke blogs pe meherbaan hai. Give and take ka zamaana hai sir, karna padta hai. After all, this is what blogging is all about in my opinion.
January 16, 2008 at 10:59 pm
abe tu padta kab hai…
bachhe dekh pad le…ehsaan kar de kitabon pe…kya jayega tera…. 10-12 number jyada aa jayenge to..bol??

January 16, 2008 at 11:05 pm
@Anurag: “Abe to padta kab hai?” Such a good question! :P Chalo, advice ke liye thank you. Poonam ji bhi advice kar chuki hain aur aisa nahi hai ki padhta nahi, computer saamne pada hota hai isliye jab koi comment karta hai to reply kar deta hoon. Waise pad hi raha hota hoon. But chalo, no replies ab se, computer off, padhai shuru.
January 16, 2008 at 11:28 pm
sab ek jaise hi hote hai…
mujhe bhi aisa hi lagta tha…
tera kasoor nahi hai betelal…teri umar ka hai…
January 17, 2008 at 2:49 am
Meri bhi umar ka hi kusoor hai ;) That’s what even I do…the book is near my laptop, but the laptop is on my LAP! :D If someone comments, then even I’m studying, I stop it and reply to the comment first.
January 17, 2008 at 9:29 am
@Anurag: Pata hai sir, ab umar ka kuch nahi kar sakta main. Waise betelal is amazing lol.
@Ruhi: Your umar is also kharaab? Yaar aise kaise kaam chalega, sabki umar hi kharaab hai.
January 17, 2008 at 9:33 am
@anurag: yeh to ish such keh raha hai yeh bhi bahut saari ladkiyon pur meherban hota hai…jahan jao wahin ish ka comment. :P Such mein padta kab hai??
Phir Friday ko ek post likhega today was Physics exam, it sucked!! (uh-uh Ish, don’t even reply.)
Blog obsession ho gaya hai.
And anurag no comment is silly, feel free to write whatever comes to your mind. Sometimes even saying that these points you agree and these you disagree gives a boost and also a clue about the public opinion. Next time write your thoughts without any inhibitions. If people don’t write comments, writer feels neglected. :(
And financial planning is the part I have paid prior attention in my resolution list. :)
January 17, 2008 at 12:42 pm
Betelal was really very funny! LOL.
@Ish: Haan, humari baali umar ;) Gawd, too much Hindi movie style dialogue, na?
@Poonam: I’m so gonna wait for that “Physics exam sucked” kinda post here. :P This boy is always at Wp.com I tell you. Who will tell that his pre-boards are on? But I don’t blame him…he really dislikes Science na! Not everyone likes to study…poor thing.
January 17, 2008 at 5:29 pm
98 comments are already there…this wld 99th..
i would request poonam ji …this ji is gettin very heavy..
i would ask poonam or ruhi to hit the last run and the century..
Ish tu 101th maar diyo..
and Ruhi who likes to study…par karna padta hai…jaalim duniya hai…
January 17, 2008 at 5:30 pm
oops meri aankhon ka dhoka tha …ye to bas 93 hai…
January 17, 2008 at 9:40 pm
@anurag: I nevr asked you to call ji. ;)
@ruhi: Jyada intezaar nahi karna padega physics exam update ke liye…al hi hai. Dekho usko pata hai agar aur comments reply karega aur exam achcha nahi hoga then we are all going to say, Ish was not studying and blogging.
Arre pur who khud hi IT engineer banna chahta hai, who to science se hi hoga. Matlab kisi ke paas akkal hai, aur who istemaal na kare to tha’s unfair to Ish himself. I firmly believe he can, and I don’t want him to act as I did at that age. There were 13 days of chutti before my Maths exam in 12 boards. There were 2 novels in my cupboard, one of them unabridged version of Jane Eyre. Other one I don’t remember. I dont need to tell you guys what I did. :(
Yet I will write to avoid ambiguity, I finished reading both novels hiding them in my course books during those 13 days! It was easier to fake because I have been known to read Maths rather than practice as most wise people do.
I did well, but I be I would have been a star had a paid little more attention to my studies then. I could have been psychiatrist I wanted to be if I had focused those days on clearing my medical entrance exam. I cleared engineering entrance something that I didnt want to do.
I have no regrets now that I am doing well. (God opens back door, you see). But there sure was a time when I regretted squandering away that precious study time.
Kya baat hai, I have written story of my life here. :)
January 17, 2008 at 10:24 pm
poonam ji aap bhi great lakes se ho kya…
hum log jab kisi ko ijjat dete hai to ji ka prayog karte hai…wo kahe ya na kahe… ;)
In a way you should thank god that u didn’t become a shrink…
abhi udhar office me net wala comp to milta nahi…
aisa sab ke saath hota hai….tabhi to is betelal ko free me salah de raha hu..pad le..pad le…in sab kaamo ke liye jindage padi…
i would like to quote ravana…that he told to lord Rama, on his gujarish…
Things that are bad for you seduce you easily; you run towards them impatiently. But things are actually good for you fail to attract you; you shun them creatively, finding powerful excuses to justify your procrastination . That is why I was impatient to abduct Sita but avoided meeting you. This is the wisdom of my life, Ram.
January 18, 2008 at 2:22 am
@Poonam
Looks like Ish has been reading these comments and has decided to stay away from his blog ;)
Sorry to hear how you ruined your maths paper…haha. I think we get more lazy if we have more time to prepare! I actually did quite well in my 12th standard boards. I got lazy AFTER that and I didn’t feel like studying for those entrance exams at all. :(
I cleared Engineering entrance exams ( never interested in medical), but I decided against a B.E degree at the last moment and went for law instead.
You should do a post on your 12th standard days…seriously. :) Would love to read more about it.
@Anurag
Aapka bhi koi blog hai kya?
January 18, 2008 at 11:16 am
@ruhi: Achchi baat hai, he is staying away. I hope ki pad raha hoga. Pat6a nahi there is so much internal resistance to write personal things. Long before when I read Ish’s posts, I am became liberal in sharing my life details with him.
I thought it was me at that age.
@anurag: I am not from Great Lakes. Aap chahe to ji hata sakte hain.
That quote from Ravan is good, where did you come across?
January 18, 2008 at 4:29 pm
@Poonam: Nope, I won’t write a post about how much the physics paper sucked today. But you know me too well, pata chal gaya ki kal kyun reply nahi kiya and all that. Waise it’s not like I don’t understand and that I don’t study. Bas timing galat ho jaata hai isliye sabko lagta hai ki 24 ghante I’m on here. It’s just that din mein 4-5 baar I check the comments and tabhi sabko reply karta hoon yahaan pe aur sabke blogs pe. It’s not like ke jaise hi tumne comment kiya mein aa gaya reply karne. You have told me that maths waala story pehle bhi..jab samjhaaya tha and mere khayaal se jab phone kara tha first time tab. It’s just that it gets annoying after sometime yaar, jo aata hai padhne ko bolta hai. Even my dhobhi tells me to study these days, I know mere achche ke liye hai but you just can’t listen to it all the time. Ek time ke baad bas fir I go into the rebellious mode aur kuch nahi sunta. And it’s not like I wanted to be an engineer, I was told that I wanted to be one. Bachpan se mere parents IIT ka khwaab bunte rahe and I thought that’s what my dream was. Turns out it wasn’t, jabse apne liye sochna shuru kiya to samajh aaya ki that’s not what I want to be. I want to be an akhbaar waala ya journalist type. But I’m just dragging this along kyunki do saal ho gaya physics, chemistry aur maths padhte hue to ab engineer bhi ban hi jaate hain..kya farak padhta hai. Agar engineer bana bhi na, to mereko pata hai dil se nahi banoonga. Bas yeh parents understand nahi kar paaye..woh samajh nahi paate ki itna brilliant bachcha ek dum se itna nalaayak kaise ho gaya. And bas misunderstanding pe misunderstanding aur saara din aapas mein ladte rehte hain hum log. Even my grandfather keeps telling me to study..matlab sometimes I feel ki pata nahi kyun jee raha hoon..I’m such a failure and bas sabko dukhi karne ke alaawa kuch nahi kiya maine aaj tak. And there’s nobody jiske saath aisi baat kar sakoon, koi samajhne ki koshish nahi karta. And as you said..akal ho kisi ke paas to usko kaise samjha sakte hain. Mujhe nahi pata yaar mere paas akal hai ya nahi..par mujhe saara din logon ko mujhpe cheekhte chillate sunkar koi khushi nahi milti. Aur main nahi karna chahta physics, chemistry aur maths yaar..it doesn’t interest me to isme mera kya fault hai? Par still I try my best to do it, it’s not like I’ve decided to ruin my life..pata nahi sabko aisa kyun lagta hai. I’m not saying you think like that par yahaan par jitne bhi relatives hain unko yahi lagta hai. Unko lagta hai I’m getting some kind of a pleasure out of making my parents sad. Mujhe kuch samajh nahi aata yaar, bas nahi aata. That’s pretty much the story of my life till now..and I don’t know why I just felt like telling you. Bas now I should run nahi to abhi rona dhona shuru ho jayega.
@Ruhi and Anurag: Sorry yaar aur kuch kehne ki himmat nahi so don’t think I didn’t reply to you guys. Apni taraf se jo reply chahiye bata dena I will type. ;)
January 18, 2008 at 4:30 pm
100! :o :D

Sorry if I’m butting in, magar agar “farak nahi padhta” you wouldn’t have ranted, y’know. I’d say try putting your case in front of your parents, 1.reasonably 2.without going off your rocker.
2 is well, the tough bit. I guess they will understand if you keep your cool and don’t play the blame game. If journalism is what you really want to do, go for it. Tell them it’ll ensure you work harder, because its something you want to do, rather than something you have to do. You’ll be the brilliant bachcha again! =) There’s no use doing something to just please someone and being half hearted about it, when it kills you inside. And come on, they’re bound to understand. If you try hard enough :)
Worked well in my case at least. :)
January 18, 2008 at 5:29 pm
Read this corrected comment and delete last one.
Ish, if you are not 100% sure you dont want to be software engineer, dont do it. (Though instinctively I think you would a fine one, you have that knack )
If you have to rebel for that cause (as to study mass communication, I understand. I strongly support you for this.
This is why I say I am like you. Bahut der se mujhe samjh aaya ki mein kya padna chahti hun. Now is time to get in that prestigious college for mass media. Think of your options. I will call you to discuss this.
I know hw you feel abt people telling you, even me preaching. :( I got same treatment from my relatives. So when they kept shouting, I could not focus on the issue. I could not hear my own heart’s voice as I was busy protecting myself from the preaching. :(
I guess I will call you, Ish.
I hope exam was ok, I was just kidding about writing physics bura hua post. Will speak soon.
January 18, 2008 at 9:14 pm
@Vasudha: Congratulations for the 100th comment. :D
And no problems about butting in. I can understand what you are trying to see but as you said, it’s difficult to keep my cool with them being impatient and not listening. But yeah, my dad does have an idea I’m more into mass communication and so he’s told me to just do this boards and then we’ll see what we can do. My mother won’t be too happy I know but I’ll convince her in the end.
@Poonam: I’m not sure if I want to be an engineer. I just don’t know what I want to do. I know I’m being lame when I say I don’t like Physics, Chemistry and Maths because as they say..zindagi mein har cheez apni pasand se nahi kar sakte. I believe once I get into a college and actually start studying stuff that is related to computers, my interest might come back. Right now, because of everybody’s reluctance to see me at the computer, I’ve stopped trying to explore into it.
I am interested in Mass Communication yes, par I don’t know if that’d be right either. Kuch samajh nahi aa raha. Dad says that pass your 12th boards once and then we can see what we can do so that’s what I’m currently trying to do. Once I’m done with the boards, I’ll sit with them and think if I want to be an engineer or go into Mass Comm because in both the cases, 12th to karna hi padega.
I know you know how I feel because you’ve been through it yourself and you know it tends to get annoying and that’s when I crack up and be rude and everybody thinks I have an attitude issue. It’s only aggravating matters further so these days I try to be at peace with everybody and keep my cool.
And about the calling part, it would be better if we do that after the exams because right now, knowing myself I won’t be able to discuss a thing. I need my time to get out of it and get into the thinking phase. Abhi I will just act lame and try to stay away and that won’t help. I wanted to talk to you too actually because you’re the only one who understands so yeah, after my exams pakka. And I’m fine waise, that emotional outburst just happens sometimes. Physics exam was ok btw.

Bhai log is bachhe par raham karo..by all conservative estimates he shld be atleast 16-17..he knows his bura-hala…

@ish: No probs, let me know when your free. You have realised at right time about the confusion. That’s a start, I am sure you will sail through it nicely
@anurag: Checked the site….but will have to take out time to see in detail. Nah, Nova and me met in blogosphere. :)
January 20, 2008 at 10:42 am
@Poonam: Yeah, I will tell you. I just hope it’s not too late.
January 20, 2008 at 11:27 am
Ish- Always do what you love doing. Never do what OTHERS think is right for you. Remember that! I have seen lots of people doing things that their parents felt was good for them and they ended up not prospering. It’s better to stick to something that interests you! :)
@Anurag- Oh I see! Probably you are not in India then because people in India can’t even register.
January 20, 2008 at 1:49 pm
@Ruhi: But I don’t really know what I want to do, that’s where the entire deal is.
January 21, 2008 at 10:36 am
Ok, don’t fret yourself with it now. Exams kab khatam ho rahe hain?
January 21, 2008 at 4:40 pm
@Poonam: Exams will end on the 29th of this month.
