Ze Desktope of Za Ish
Don’t worry too much about the name of the post. I don’t understand what I’ve written either. I’m really grateful to Lemonade for tagging me to do the Desktop Meme. Actually while visiting Ashish’s blog yesterday, I was going through his blogroll and noticed that Hedonistics Anonymous had done this meme as well. I was planning on stealing it but Lemonade tagged me before I could get my lazy ass to work and I’m grateful to her for that. So here goes!
I’m using a desktop style on Windows XP. The style is called VXP. The wallpaper was made by Elena and the box says Sugalicious because her common name is Suga. I still use this wallpaper shamelessly because I love the colours. I’m one person who just can’t live without the desktop icons. Midtown Madness 2 is a nice game.
And being the desktop show off whore that I am, I’m going to go an extra mile and show you how my Firefox window looks like.
That page by the way is Lemonade’s pretty blog. And if you’re wondering what the toolbar below the Bookmarks Toolbar is, it’s my design toolbar which enables me to quickly view the CSS and/or Javascript and HTML being used on a website. It’s a standard Firefox extension.
Now for the tagging part. I’m going to tag :-

Anybody else who wants to do it can go ahead. It’s just that I didn’t want to burden you people with meme’s. I for one don’t really have a lot to do because my imagination is dead thanks to them exams.

cool theme! I used to have it too on my comp sometime back :) Now, I have removed everything- I’m in my “minimalist super fast” phase right now :D
@Ruhi: You’ve used every theme I put up! You had used Zune too! Btw, I’m kind of happy with this theme. It doesn’t hog up a lot of resources if you install it in a clever fashion using Style XP to mix and match the themes.
AAh…midtown madness 2 ..yes thats a great game..though i dont play it nowadays ,but still i feel nostalgic about it.. …
@ish, Yeah..as a matter of fact, I did use Style XP :) I removed the extra components like you mentioned. The Zune theme was pretty cool. That was crazy phase in my computer life…haha. I installed so many things- icon packs, desktop themes, Windows startup page etc etc. I re-formatted this XP laptop a couple of days back and won’t do anything to it now :|
oh god! you have such an organised DT! no matter how hard i try to keep it clean, i always end up having too much stuff in mine! and it is all topsy-turvy!just like my room! :D
i can survive if someone wants me to do a desktop meme. but i will die of humiliation if it has to be my room! :D hmmm, or maybe i will first kill the blogger who has the bright idea! :D

thanks for doing the tag ish…i have to admit i think this is like the best tag so far! lets come up with a new one similar to this like posting a photo of your actual desk or something!
@Ruhi: Yea, I have been through that phase as well. But it comes back with vengeance sometimes. I’ve already changed my theme back to Windows XP normal after having posted those screenshots. It screwed up my log on screen and was doing something with the memory. Even I’m planning to go neat and clean for sometime now.
@Sanjida: I have a cluttered desktop too but then I started using folders. It’s a neat trick. Every month I add a new sub folder in that “Unused Icons” folder and place the stuff that I don’t use regularly. Similarly the folder called “iPod Tools” contains all the converters, rippers and stuff. It’s easy if you can take to using folders.

Your set up is not dissimilar to mine. I don’t like a mess or too many icons.
