It’s pretty difficult thinking up relevant headings these days.If you’re clever enough,you’d understand this post is about three things-Australia winning the DLF Cup,Martina Hingis winning the Sunfeast Open 2006 Singles and Sania and her partner winning the doubles gold at the same event.

Australia totally thrashed the Windies to show why they’re number 1 in the world.They set up a decent target of 240 with Micheal Clarke and Andrew Symonds scoring 52 runs each but the thing to see was their bowling and fielding.They dismissed the whole Windies team at 113.Only three players scored in double figures,no one reaching the 50 of course.Atleast five players were dismissed for a duck.It was a dismal show of batting and an awesome show of line and length.Brett Lee took 4 wickets to become the highest wicket taker in the tournament.He took a total of 11 wickets.Nathan Bracken bowled beautifully and got 3 wickets.I still don’t like Australia’s attitude though but I must say,totally deserved win.Next Stop-Champions Trophy at India.

Sunfeast Open 2006 singles champion is..*drum roll*..yeah you guessed it right,it’s the top seed Martina Hingis.She routed her Russian opponent in a sweet 56 minutes to seal the match 6-0,6-4.She said she would love to come defend the title next year.We’ll be more than happy to have you back Martina.

Some joy for the Indians at last.Sania managed to win the singles title with her partner.They were the top seeds and well the partner was the reason they were.Sania didn’t really do much.Anyway Congratulations to you Mirza.I just hope your rankings improve so we can have an Indian player in a respectible position.It’s really difficult handling people in the tennis room when your country doesn’t have a decent player y’know.
